Toll systems covered

Every toll and vignette system on the route is included in the per-country lines. Detailed 2026 tariff pages exist for:

How accurate are the numbers

Tariffs come from the operators' published tables and are updated when an operator publishes a change. The route is the actual HGV route for the truck you choose, so the toll is computed on the kilometres that are really charged, country by country. That makes the result a quote-grade figure: the number a pricing team puts on an offer.

The toll operator's own invoice can still differ, for reasons outside the calculation: the route the driver actually drives, the exact axle count or CO₂ class of the specific truck, exchange rates on the day, and tariff changes between quote and trip. RouteCalc is not a toll-operator calculator and does not issue toll invoices. All prices on this site are shown excl. VAT.

Where RouteCalc fits

Next to a transport management system

A TMS runs orders, fleets and drivers. RouteCalc prices a lane in seconds and can feed a TMS through the API. Most customers use both.

Instead of a consumer map

Consumer map services route cars and do not know truck tolls, vignettes or weight restrictions. RouteCalc routes a truck and prices every country it crosses.

Instead of one toll operator's calculator

An operator's calculator covers its own country. RouteCalc gives every country on the trip in one result, plus fuel and CO₂.

A side-by-side with the tools most often named next to RouteCalc is on the comparison page.

One credit is one route; a multi-stop route uses one credit per leg. Credits stay valid 12 months. All features are included on every plan. Extra credit packs can be bought at any time. Card or bank transfer. Full details on the pricing page.

API and MCP

The public API returns the same numbers as the calculator: resolved stops, totals, a per-country breakdown and, when Romania is on the route, the TollRo split. It is documented in the API reference and in openapi.yaml. An MCP server lets AI assistants call it directly. Anonymous use is limited to 5 calculations per rolling 24 hours; a subscription key uses the plan's credits.

Frequently asked questions

Is RouteCalc a truck toll calculator for the whole of Europe?

Yes. It covers 49 European countries and returns the toll, vignette, fuel, time and CO₂ for each country a route crosses, in one calculation.

Does it handle TollRo in Romania?

Yes. From 1 October 2026 the Romanian per-kilometre charge is included on the Romanian kilometres of any route, at the tariff for the truck's weight and Euro class. A separate per-kilometre TollRo calculator is also available.

Can I calculate many routes at once?

Yes. After signup you upload an Excel file with one route per row, or several stops per row, and download the results with the full cost breakdown.

Is there an API?

Yes. A public REST API and an MCP server use the same engine. The first 5 calculations per 24 hours are free without a key.

How much does it cost?

5 guest calculations are free, then 20 credits after signup. Paid plans start at €14.99 per month for 80 routes, excl. VAT, with 12 % off on yearly billing.

Are the tolls official figures?

They are computed from the operators' published tariffs on the real truck route and are meant for quoting. The operator's invoice can differ for the actual route driven, the specific truck's axle count or CO₂ class, and exchange rates.

Do I need to install anything?

No. RouteCalc runs in the browser on any device. There is no limit on devices per account.
